Women Organizing for Justice & Opportunity (WOJO) trains core groups of formerly incarcerated women in Southern California to become leaders in movement of social justice. WOJO advocates and focuses on eliminating discrimination and improving community conditions for people who are returning from prisons and jails, and others with criminal convictions.
WOJO members are active in several annual events, including Quest for Democracy (Q4D), which cultivates and fosters an authentic partnership between “systems-involved” people in California and decision-makers in Sacramento. Through Q4D and in solidarity with All of Us or None, WOJO helps those directly impacted by judicial, legislative and economic systems develop a better understanding of how and where laws and policies are created.
Graduates of the WOJO training program are celebrated in an annual certificate ceremony with official proclamations from public officials.
Are you a formerly incarcerated woman? YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO CHANGE IN YOUR COMMUNITY. YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED!
